Sounio hosts one of the most important monuments of the “Golden Age”, the famous Temple of Poseidon. It was built in 440 BC and it is dedicated to Poseidon who according to the Mythology was the God of the Seas. It has an amazing and stunning view of the blue of Aegean sea. The best time of the day is in the afternoon where the sun meets the blue of the sea and makes the perfect sunset you have seen. Also, the panoramic view gives you the opportunity to take great photos too.

Starting Point
The tour begins when your personal driver picks you up from the starting point to explore Athens and Sounio
Acropolis Hill - Parthenon
First stop the ultimate monument of Athens, the Acropolis Hill that will lead to the historic and marvelous Parthenon. In the Acropolis you will have the chance to admire the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and also the Theater of Herodes Atticus.
Temple of Zeus - Handrian's Arch
After the Acropolis you will have the chance to witness in your own eyes the temple of the Olumpian Zeus which was dedicated to the Zeus who was the head of the Olympian Gods. Passing the Temple of Zeus you will take a close look at the Handrian’s Arch which was built in 131 AD and is dedicated to the Roman emperor Handrian.
Kalimarmaro
We will continue with the spectacular Kallimarmaro Stadium which was built in the 6th century and after its renovation in the 19th century it hosted the opening and the closing olympic ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896. Furthermore it is the only stadium in the world that is made entirely from marble
The Constitution Square, Athens University and Greek Parliament
Continuing on, we will pass by the University of Athens, the Constitution Square, as well as the National Library of Greece. The next stop is the impressive Greek Parliament at Constitution Square, where you will have the chance to admire the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Finally, you will see the famous Evzones, the Presidential Guards, and you may have the opportunity to witness the ceremonial changing of the guard.
Zappeion
The Zappeion is a historic neoclassical building located in the heart of Athens, Greece, near the National Gardens. It was built in the late 19th century and played an important role in the first modern Olympic Games. The building is known for its elegant architecture, featuring Corinthian columns and a large central courtyard. Today, the Zappeion is used for exhibitions, conferences, and cultural events. It remains a symbol of Greece’s connection between ancient heritage and modern history.

Leaving Athens on our way to Sounio, we will pass through the famous and stunning Athenian Riviera. The Athenian Riviera is the coastal area of the southern suburbs of Athens and has many beautiful beaches, enough to satisfy every desire
Vouliagmeni Lake
In the Athenian Riviera we will have our stop at the Lake of Vouliagmeni which is is a unique natural landmark known for its warm, mineral-rich waters. Surrounded by impressive rock formations, the lake offers a peaceful setting just outside the city. It is a popular spot for relaxation and swimming all year round, coffee or lunch.
Sounio - Temple of Poseidon
We continue our ride to Sounio, which will give you the opportunity to enjoy the magical view of the Athenian Riviera. When we arrive at Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon, you will have time to explore and learn all about this stunning monument dedicated to Poseidon.
Dinner
Finally, the ideal ending is a dinner in a local “taverna” or restaurant.
